 We just got back from expo! It was great. We left at 9:30am and got to our campsite at 2:30pm. It was a pretty safe and easy walk there about 7km’s. Not too hard at all. We had a new teacher Mr Martin who used to work at the Alpine school and came along to help. Along the way, we sang lots of songs and talked, talked and did more talking! It was a great journey. Everybody had started to get tired from carrying the heavy bags, then we saw the orange log with all of our water, we were there! First we had a group discussion about where we wanted to set up camp, then we had a look at Jimmy’s thunder box (yes, it is a toilet out in the open). Then we set up our tents, my tent buddy was Aimee, she was pretty cool. After setting up we had a bit of free time to look around and have fun. Most of the girls decided to take photos and watched the boys play frisby. At about 4:45 we started to cook dinner, as it gets dark at around 5:30. It was so yummy! We had carbonara, then for dessert we made chocolate ripple cake mmmmmm….. Yummy!!! As the night went on we roasted marshmallows on the fire and played murder in the dark, it was really good and the teachers joined in to. Then it got late so we all went to bed. In the morning we woke up and made some breakfast, Aimee and I had porridge with honey in it and a milk drink with honey too. It tasted sooooo… good. Then it was the fun part, packing up! By the end of packing up we left by 9:30am. It was only a 3km walk from the campsite to the car park. Chasing cows was pretty fun too! All up it was really good to see nature and share an awesome experience with a whole new group of people. By Jacqui T
