Frankston High
School - Easy Wheels For Frankston Beaches The aim of this project was to investigate
disabled access to beaches and to produce a brochure with information
to assist disabled people to access beaches in the Frankston area.
The project team also aimed to further improve access by raising
funds to purchase a beach wheelchair for the local beach. This student
team was also honoured with an order of Australia Mornington Peninsula
Award for community service, for their project.
"We have been really
busy with our CLP hopefully by the time we get back to school our
brochures will have been printed so I will send you a copy of them.
We are getting them for free from Axa. We have nearly got enough
money together to buy a wheelchair, and we are designing it ourselves
so we can't wait until we have finished that. We have also done
heaps of presentations to different groups to get more money, we
have sold chocolates and done heaps of sausage sizzles." Mel, Term 1 2001
During Term 1 2005, the School Teams selected
to attend The Alpine School will be continuing work on their chosen
